Part 2: Warrior’s Workout

Want to get fit like Fiore; limber like Liechtenauer; tough like Talhoffer; or agile like Agrippa? In this workshop we will look at the most common movements and exercises that HEMA athletes perform. Depending on your weapon of choice (longsword, rapier, saber, dagger) we will look at the muscle groups being activated and explore how to strengthen them. Then, get ready to sweat! We will follow this with a full 60-minute fitness class, involving solo drills and forms utilizing the longsword, interspersed with conditioning sequences and high intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises, and stretching.
