GET ANSWERS

  • Not at all. The steel longsword tournaments are Friday, entireal, and an add-on purchase. All event registrations include spectator access to the tournaments, so you can come cheer everyone on even if you’re not competing.. Saturday and Sunday are for workshops, open sparring, and fun games. Most attendees don't compete.

  • All skill levels are welcome. Workshops can span from beginner to advanced, and if you don’t feel comfortable participating, you’re welcome to watch. We also have lectures, free sparring, and plenty of time to hang out and get to know your community.

  • Tournament participants are required to bring their own gear meeting the tournament standards. For everyone else, we recommend bringing at least mask, gorget, and gloves suitable for foam sparring. Lonin League has some loaner protective gear available for foam sparring, including plenty of swords. For steel sparring, you’ll need to bring your own full kit. We’ve got room to store gear at our space.

  • This year, we’re running more mini events as part of Swordsquatch. Previously we’ve run Medieval Bar Fight Simulator and the Skirmish; keep an eye out this year for announcements about what will be coming. Our goal is for these to be fun, unserious games with light competition. No need to sign up in advance, and we’ll teach you the rules when we’re starting.

  • Refunds are available before June 1 or within two weeks of registration, whichever is later. We aren’t able to refund outside that window, but we may be able to transfer your registration to another person if you find a friend to take your place.

  • Yes. Swordsquatch believes in accessibility, and we want everyone in the community to be able to join us. Our pay what you can rates are just that.
